Tell us then Joe, how old do you think the Earth is?
A simple question.
Please give us the value with error ranges, and briefly explain the scientific evidence that supports those numbers.
Joe G cops out with this:
means that Thorton wants much more than what I think.
Yes Joe, that's right. What you think and why you think it.
Under the circumstances that seems perfectly reasonable.

So, Joe, YEC is it now then? How low you have sunk.
IOW any heat generated by rapid decay could have been transferred to the core.
Or the "intelligent designer" could have put cooling fins on the earth and radiated it out into space. Lots of options!
Just stopping by to say this blog is a great idea. Chronicling Joe G's peculiar brand of "reasoning" is a job reserved for those with great patience and a ready supply of mockery.
ReplyDeleteCheers :)
ReplyDeleteI said I don't know how old the Earth is.
ReplyDeleteThat is the honest answer.
However I understand that you and honesty do not go together...
BTW I am not a YEC.
ReplyDeleteIOW I see that you have to lie in order to try to make it seem as if you are on to something.
What's your best guess based on available evidence, Joe?
ReplyDeleteYou might not *know* how old the earth is, but you seem to know the age claimed for it is in fact wrong.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know that, if you don't have an opinion of your own to compare the generally accepted answer to?
How old is the earth Joe?
ReplyDeleteYou "don't know"? Take your best guess....
"You might not *know* how old the earth is, but you seem to know the age claimed for it is in fact wrong."
ReplyDeleteThat is because it is based on faulty and untestable assumptions.
"How do you know that, if you don't have an opinion of your own to compare the generally accepted answer to?"
One doesn't have to know the correct answer before one can determine that another "answer" is incorrect.
"What's your best guess based on available evidence, Joe?"
ReplyDeleteI am interested in science, not guessing games.
However I understand that neither of you understand science and so you blindly follow those who you agree with.
>> That is because it is based on faulty and untestable assumptions.
ReplyDeleteWhich are what? That we don't know the age of the supernova that seeded the solar system? Can you provide a citation to the peer reviewed literature that supports that contention, or are you just pulling it out of your ass?
>> One doesn't have to know the correct answer before one can determine that another "answer" is incorrect.
Then can you give us a range that the answer could fall into? Something like 6000 to 10000 years perhaps? Something like that? Or is that beyond you?
>> I am interested in science, not guessing games.
ReplyDeleteProve it! What's your "scientific" reason for doubting the age of the earth has determined by the currently accepted methodology?
>> However I understand that neither of you understand science and so you blindly follow those who you agree with.
For sure. I mean, science is all about claiming other people are ignorant then refusing to back up your claims with evidence.
Joe G - Number 1 scientist.
"What's your "scientific" reason for doubting the age of the earth has determined by the currently accepted methodology?"
ReplyDeleteUntestable assumptions- just as I have been saying asshole.
" I mean, science is all about claiming other people are ignorant then refusing to back up your claims with evidence."
And that is exactly what you are doing you little faggot.
>> Untestable assumptions- just as I have been saying asshole.
ReplyDeleteLike what? Be specific. Or are we back to "rad decay starts as soon as the unstable element is formed"? Is that it?
If you provide your objections then we can take them to a real scientist and see if they hold water. I'm happy to do that for you, if you can hold off on the insults long enough to put together a coherent statement.
>>And that is exactly what you are doing you little faggot.
Now now, potty mouth. It won't get you banned however! So don't worry about that!
Why can't you put a number out there, Joe. You can put error bars around it. What a spineless little coward you are!
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteHow about we start simple?
For example, I'm guessing you are about 50 years old.
Therefore the earth is *at least* 50 years old.
Then, to that, we can add the age of your parents. And so on, until we run out of that sort of data.
That should still get us back a good 100-150 years.
And then we can take it from there.
Or is that another dating "method" you refuse to trust?
So if you won't/can't say hold old the earth is perhaps we can start off by setting a minimum age, as based on your personal experience?
